Who is this newsletter for? 👀

The LinkedIn Engineer talks to Software Engineers, and in particular to those that hate the idea of selling themselves.

In my career, I have met many talented developers who unfortunately didn’t boost their job opportunities. And when that happens, I have noticed a common pattern:

👉🏻 a total refusal for social visibility and, in particular, for LinkedIn.

  • “I hate the idea of presenting myself 🤢

  • “I don’t know what to say about me 🙈

  • “LinkedIn is a lie, everybody is talking big about their achievements, but it’s fake”

are the typical thoughts of people who don’t actively use it. And so they start preventing themselves from having the opportunities they’d like, and simply the opportunities don’t come!

Honestly, this is a shame: this way, being talented becomes secondary, and apart from exceptional situations, the classical outcome is that they will end up working for a company they are not happy with.

If you see yourself in this situation, well, this newsletter is for you.

My ambition is to change your mind, and transmit you the huge potential it has on your career to use this tool properly.

Sceptical?

I understand it, let me tell you a bit more about me.

I am Giovanni Laganà, I am a Software Engineer and, at the time that I write, I work at TheFork.

My academic path was a bit unconventional: in high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do in life, and I studied languages. At University, I was lucky enough to pick Computer Science and became passionate about it.

But, and this is important, I want to make clear that I have never been a phenomenon.

Definitely, not the first of the class. Far from being the student with crazy marks, and whatsoever.

However, if I can recognize myself as something I have always been good at, that is ambition.

And by that, I mean that it’s precisely thanks to the fact that there were people more talented than me, that I found that eager to boost my possibilities at their maximum.

Thanks to this eagerness, in the last 3 years I have been able to collect hundreds of job opportunities.

And today I believe that maniacally caring about my LinkedIn profile has been the key to landing a dream job.

Now, I have the ambition to tell you how I made it, with the hope that you can replicate it, or even better, find your personal way of selling yourself.

I will tell you all the knowledge I gained during these years, and provide you with tips and tricks on how to use LinkedIn.

Are you ready to start? 🔥
